Dr. ( Ms.)  Mamta G. Sagar, is a  Kannada poet who has edited a trilingual booklet "BEYOND BARRIERS Slovenian-Kannada Literature Interactions".  This book was  launched at the Central Sahitya Akademi Regional Centre, Bangalore on the 29th Dec 2011. The function was attended amongst others, by Mr Ravi Chandar, Honorary Consul General of Slovenia in Karnataka. This is a special book of its kind with works by two Kannada and four Slovenian authors in it. Mr. Jayakar Jerome, Indian Ambassador to Slovenia participated in the book launch function through web conferencing along with the Slovenian writers.
 
Dr. Mamta G Sagar, Kannada poet and playwright has three collections of poems, four plays, an anthology of column writng, a collection of essays and a booklet on Slovenian-Kannada Literature Interactions to her credit. Her poems are translated into many Indian languages including English apart from Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Galician, Maltese, Japanese, Chinese, Slovenian, Serbian, Russian, Cebuano and are published in those respective languages. She has collaborated/performed with artists N. Pushpamala (India), Jannet and Jennifer (Australia). She has presented poems at poetry festivals in Vietnam, Colombia, Cuba, South Africa, Nicaragua and Slovenia. Mamta teaches at the Centre for Kannada Studies, Bangalore University and lives in Bangalore.
