E-tourist visas for Slovenian citizens

 

The Government of India had launched the e-Tourist Visa (e-TV) scheme on 27 November 2014 for 43 countries at 9 airports to facilitate short-term travel to India. Initially the scheme was available to 77 countries, which is going to be extended to 36 more countries including Slovenia from 15th August 2015. E-Tourist Visa is valid for entry through 16 Airports in India. However, the foreigner can take exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.

E-Tourist Visa is allowed for a maximum of two visits in a calendar year and the validity of visa will be 30 days from the date of arrival in India. E-Tourist Visa once issued on arrival is for single entry only and is non-extendable, non-convertible & not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted and Cantonment Areas. Applicants may apply online minimum 4 days in advance of the date of arrival. The e-TV is not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders.

Applicants applying for Indian visa are required to fill the online visa application form carefully and take a print out of the same. They should then approach the Embassy of India with the printed application form and relevant documents for submission. Please read the following instructions for a regular visa application which is to be submitted at the Consular Section of the Embassy IN PERSON ONLY since fingerprint biometrics have been introduced recently. The e-tourist visa (e-TV) form for a one month visa on arrival is accessible from the same website.

 

The processing of visa application normally takes A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK. At times this could also be a longer period. All cases where visa has been processed finally will be put up on the website. Applicant should therefore CHECK THE WEBSITE of the Embassy and WHEN THEIR APPLICATION NUMBER APPEARS ON THE WEBSITE, they MAY PLEASE APPROACH the Consular Section on Wednesday or Friday between 2 to 3 PM.

Types of Visa

 

Different types of visas are issued based on the purpose of the visits. Visas are valid from the date of issue. No visa will be issued from the date of travel.

Transit Visa

A Transit Visa is granted to travel through India to reach an ultimate destination. A person who is transiting through India has to provide enough proof of his travel plans by way of valid tickets for onward journey via India. Single / Double Entry Transit Visa, valid for a maximum period of 15 days, are issued to applicants who would be transiting through India. The maximum duration of stay permitted each time in India on transit visa is 3 days. For a stay beyond 3 days, an appropriate visa should be obtained.

Tourist Visa

Persons who wish to visit India for tourism, sightseeing or for meeting friends and relatives would normally be granted a Tourist Visa. A Tourist Visa cannot be used for any other purposes, such as business, education, research, journalism, social work etc. and as such, a Tourist Visa should not be applied, if the purpose of visit falls under any of these categories. Tourist Visa is non-extendable and non-convertible.

Business Visa

Business Visa is granted to a foreign national who wants to visit India to establish Industrial/business venture or to explore possibilities to set up industrial/business venture in India or wants to purchase/sell industrial products or commercial products or consumer durables.

Documents required:

  • Passport valid for a minimum of six months with at least two blank pages.

  • An original signed letter from the company in Slovenia fully explaining the nature of business and duration of the visit.
  • Proof of financial standing and expertise in the field of intended business. Bank statement for the last six months.
  • Copy of Credit cards.
  • A signed letter of invitation from an Indian company on its letterhead clearly stating the purpose and duration for which business visa is requested.
  • A copy of valid Health Insurance which would cover the entire visa duration.

Employment Visa

Employment visa is granted to a foreigner who desires to take up employment in India. For a visa of 180 days duration and more registration with the FRRO/FRO within 14 days of arrival is mandatory.

Documents Required:

  • A valid Passport with at least two blank pages.
  • Two recent identical passport size photographs (as per the specifications given below).
  • Airline ticket to India.
  • Proof of Employment or contract or engagement by the company/organization in India.

  • Documentary proof of educational qualification or professional expertise.
  • Health Insurance coverage for the entire visa duration must be incorporated in the Employment Contract.

Conference Visa

A Conference visa may be granted to a foreigner whose sole objective of visiting India is to attend a conference/seminar or workshop being held in India. The applicant, in addition to having in possession a valid passport with validity up to six months should also be a person of assured financial standing (the production of a return ticket and availability of sufficient money to spend during his stay in India).

Duration of the Conference visa

Conference visa will be issued for the duration of the conference and the travelling time. However, delegates can combine tourism with attending the conference.

Student Visa

Student visas are given to foreigners whose sole objective of visiting India is to pursue regular and full time academic studies at recognized institutions in India. The visa is valid for the period of study as approved by the educational institutions in India or for a maximum period of five years, whichever is less. Registration is required within 14 days of arrival in India, if period of stay is more than 180 days.

Documents Required

  • Letter of admission from a recognized Indian educational institution with duration of the course.

  • Permission from Parents to study abroad for applicants below 18 years.
  • Letter of approval & No Objection Certificate from Ministry of Health, Government of India, if attending a medical/para-medical course.
  • A copy of valid Health Insurance which would cover the entire visa duration.
  • Copy of Credit cards.

Medical visa

A Medical visa is granted for medical treatment up to one year or the period of treatment whichever is less with triple entries. Registration is required with the concerned FRROs within 14 days of arrival.

Medical escort visa

A Medical Escort visa is given to those who are accompanying a patient. Maximum of two escorts are permitted with a patient. The visa is granted up to one year or the period of treatment whichever is less with triple entries. Registration is required with the concerned FRROs within 14 days of arrival.

Research Visa

Research visas are given to Research Professors or Scholars.

Documents required:

  • Duly completed visa application form from the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
  • Passport valid to cover the duration of the course with at least two blank pages.
  • Two recent identical passport size photographs (as per the specifications given below).
  • Return airline ticket to India.
  • The submission of subject of research containing full details of the places to be visited during research, previous visits etc,
  • Original admission letter of a recognized university from India (e-mails or photocopies of admission letters will not be entertained).
  • Evidence of financial support.
  • Valid Health Insurance for the entire visa duration.

Entry Visa

For all other purposes, like dependents of students/research visa holders, members of sports teams, scientific/mountaineering expeditions, etc., persons of Indian origin, Entry Visas can be obtained, depending on the purpose of visit, eligibility, on a case by case basis. Registration is required within 14 days of arrival in India if the stay is more than 180 days.

 

Journalist Visa

Issued to professional journalists & photographers, a representative of a Radio or Television organization and similar personnel in the field of information such as travel writers, travel journalists, travel promotion photographers, television producers, advertising, commercial persons and those who write on fashion, costumes and sports for three months (single entry) on submission of documentary proof (employment card or original letter from a reputed News/Media agency where they are working or by the office who have given them assignment in India) to visit India for any purpose other than film shooting.

Foreign journalists coming to India on long-term assignments (i.e. to be based in India), are advised to fill up the online form (http://pibaccreditation.nic.in/ under category New users select option – "I am applying through Indian Mission abroad) for issuance of PIB card simultaneously with submission of 'J' Visa.

Film and Documentary Shooting in India

Foreigners need prior approval to shoot films in India; both feature as well as documentary. Application for permission to shoot feature/documentary films has to be made to the Embassy in a prescribed format along with an undertaking.

The list of documents needed to be attached with the application is:

1. Duly completed Visa Application Form from the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.

2. Application Form for filming documentaries in India along with undertaking in the prescribed format to be given by the Embassy on application.
3. Application for filming at protected monuments
4.List of team members along with name, nationality, date of birth, passport number,   place and date of issue and validity, occupation etc
5.List of cinematic equipments with description and brand name
6.Synopsis of the proposed film project (4 copies)
7.Filming programme stage by stage and date by date
8.Letter from the producer specifying the hospitality required.
9. Publicity Returns: TV Channel where the documentary will be screened (details of date/time/duration etc).
10. Valid Health Insurance for the visiting journalists for the entire visa duration.

PLEASE NOTE: Application Forms, Undertaking and information sheets may please be signed by the Producer and submitted in nine sets. Also, it may please be noted that it takes a minimum of 4-5 weeks after the receipt of the completed application in the Embassy to process the case and for the Government of India' permission to come through.

Transfer of Long Term Visa

In order to transfer a long-term visa from an old passport to a new one, applicants are required to submit the old passport which holds the valid Indian visa and the current valid passport. A fee of € 6/= will be charged for transferring visa.

Documents required:

  • Duly completed visa application form from the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
  • Passport valid for the duration of the visa to be transferred.
  • Two recent identical passport size photographs (as per the specifications given below).
  • Return airline ticket to India.

Visa for Nationals other than Slovenians

The visa applicant of a nationality other than Slovenia should normally apply for visa to the Indian Embassy in the country of his citizenship. In extraordinary circumstances, Indian Embassy in Ljubljana may grant visa. However, in such cases, visa shall be granted after the Embassy receives clearance from the Indian Embassy situated in the country of original residence of the applicant. The visa fee will, however, depend on the nationality of the applicant, type and duration of the visa required.

 

Visa for Slovenian/Foreign passport holders of Pakistani origin

  • Duly completed visa application form from the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
  • Passport valid for a minimum of 180 days with at least two blank pages
  • Two recent identical passport size photographs (as per the specifications given below).
  • Return airline ticket to India.
  • Relevant documents as per visa category.
  • Valid Health Insurance for the visiting journalists for the entire visa duration.

 

There is an additional referral fee of Euro 11 per application.

Visa will be issued only after clearance is received from the competent authority.

 

Visa for Slovenian/Foreign Passport Holders of Bangladeshi Origin

  • Duly completed visa application form from the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
  • Passport valid for a minimum of 180 days with at least two blank pages.
  • Two recent identical passport size photographs (as per the specifications given below).
  • Return airline ticket to India.
  • Relevant documents as indicated under Visa categories.
  • Valid Health Insurance for the visiting journalists for the entire visa duration.

 

Photo specifications

  • 2 recent passport-sized (45mm high x 35mm wide) colour photographs with a white background.
  • It should be in sharp focus, clear and of good quality, free from shadows.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper.
  • Taken with nothing covering the face, without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, or a head covering. The subject should have their mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows) and the applicant should be facing forward, looking straight ahead.
  • The photograph should be a recent true likeness and taken within the last 6 months.
